So what does the Finance Manager do when not ‘counting the beans’?

As Finance Manager with All Hands Volunteers “AHV” , I am off to our Cagayan de Oro project in Philippines for a two month period where I will pick up our Development Officer’s efforts to build our fundraising network and volunteer opportunities in the local Filipino community and corporate sector of Cagayan de Oro.

A tree-planting project has just been finalized and the first week of October.  PLTD-SMART Foundation is the generous donor/sponsor for this project and plans to engage approximately 30-50 employees to participate in tree-planting day with All Hands Volunteers from around the world and the local Cala’anan community.

A little digging in the mud is also on the schedule.  How can you go on project and not get into the thick of things?  Any excuse to get away from the desk.

I think the Finance Manager can take her cue from Chris Turner, the Project Director ….and pick up a shovel or two!

  1. Generally I don’t read article on blogs, but I would like to say that this write-up very forced me to try and do so! Your writing style has been surprised me. Thanks, very nice post.
